  1. The way I see it is that while this is the community Cabrera wants to represent, many of the people holding office are Hispanic, yet fully assimilated into the world of American politics. Historically, many people who've migrated to this country, no longer thought of themselves by their original cultural background but as Americans. They came to this country for the chance of a better life, but sadly ended up in the poorest neighborhoods and in jobs with very little pay. They had very few if not, no one to represent their needs in the government. Now, I think it's great someone, such as Cabrera, is stepping up to the plate to represent people she knows very well. However, unless they decide somehow to change the system so as to be a little lenient on candidates of certain backgrounds, I'm not sure if Cabrera can obtain a position in office. It makes more sense that the people in that Arizonia community decide if Cabrera is qualified and should run for office or not. The way our goverment system works is the issue at hand.
